You like music ? You like design ? You definitely should stay !
(meaningly subscribing to the newsletter).
If you don’t, well, you should at least come back sometimes to read one or two articles, I can assure you it will be more fulfilling than watching a video of a widely unknown person trying to sell you a course with bad advice to get clients they actually never had.

So, what’s Resonant Form ?

It’s the name I chose to write about the intimate bonding between music and visuals, focusing primarily on the design aspect, the “visual side” of music.

In that regard, I will write about album covers art direction, musician and festival brandings, music videos, and interview people that participated into crafting this : illustrators, designers, photographers, etc…

The goal is not to be simply “a list of good looking curated things”, but to try to raise awareness on particularly interesting imageries and concepts, and when relevant, to learn things on the way.

Also what’s a resonant form, for real ?

Official scientific definitions can be pretty harsh to read, but in simple words, it’s the different ways to write the composition of a molecule, that all work similarly while carrying subtle differences depending on the context.

That’s why I chose this name, because in addition to be extremely cool (isn’t it ?),
I found that the underlying meaning was perfect to talk about music and visuals : two domains that need structure, but also variations, that follow patterns but also evolve from them, that link elements between them in different ways, that can be as beautiful from following rules as from breaking them.
This duality concerning them individually and together as well.

By the way, who am I ?

I am an Art Director & Motion Designer with almost 20 years of career (damn), also a musician hobbyist for even longer. I work with clients in various industries notably music, and I hope that you will enjoy my selections and my writings, and if I make you discover at least one thing that you really like, I will be fulfilled 🙏.
